I agree completely and its a view you rarely see expressed in Civil War books. It seems the first rule of Civil War publishing is NEVER criticize Abraham Lincoln - unless you want to call him as racist. You see the same attitude toward George Marshall and FDR in WW II history. I suppose people have their heroes and don't want to buy books that criticize them - even if its the truth.
