A Great Man Passes

"Alexander Solzhenitsyn, the Nobel Prize-winning Russian author whose books chronicled the horrors of dictator Josef Stalin's slave labor camps, has died of heart failure, his son said Monday. He was 89."

A great man full of integrity. As a young man, the "Gulag Archipelago" made a great impression on me. Two other great books are "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich" and "Lenin in Zurich".

Side Note: I'll never forgive that moron Jerry Ford for refusing to invite him to the White House. That was the difference between a hack like Jerry Ford and Reagan. Reagan called them an "Evil Empire" while Ford didn't want to offend the Communist Dictators by inviting a Nobel Prize winner to the White House.
